Careers Fairs

Description

City career fairs are formally structured events where 20 to 35 employers are represented, each with their own stand. This is a rare opportunity to meet lots of companies within just a couple of hours. You will be able to speak with human resources ( HR ) representatives that can go into detail about the company's application and selection process, as well as graduate trainees that have been with the company for one or two years. Graduate trainees can talk to you more about their personal experience when applying, as well as their role duties.

Benefits to getting involved

Fairs offer the chance to research your chosen career options and get a head start in your job hunt. The event provides the perfect opportunity to network with key recruiters and gather information that will help you to stand out from other applicants and answer that all important question “why do you want to work for us?” It is highly recommended that students come to this event having prepared some questions for exhibitors. Write down names of the people that you meet and use this as a way to create a strong first impression.
