Careers Fairs


City Fairs are formally structured sector specific events where 20 to 35 employers are represented, each with their own stand. This is a rare opportunity to network with lots of organisations within just a couple of hours. You will be able to speak with company representatives, some of whom are City Alumni, who can go into detail about the company, how to stand out from other applicants as well as their personal experience when applying, as well as their role duties.

Benefits to getting involved 

Fairs offer the chance to research your chosen options and get a head start in your hunt for undergraduate, graduate and post graduate opportunities. The Fairs provides the perfect opportunity to network with key employers from specific sectors and gather information that will help you to stand out from other applicants and answer that all important question “why do you want to join us?” It is highly recommended that students come to this event having prepared some questions for exhibitors. Write down names of the people that you meet and use this as a way to create a strong first impression.

Each sector specific Fair will have a preparation workshop on the Monday prior to the event. Students should attend this to get top tips on how to network with and impress employers. They will also collect a VIP pass at this session, for fast track entry to the Fair.
