Employability Skills Programme

Description 

Employability Skills Tuesdays will prepare you to make the transition from education to work, exploring all aspects of the selection and recruitment process. These sessions will cover the skills that are most valued by recruiters, how you can reflect on these and how to articulate your experiences clearly when talking to employers.

Benefits to getting involved 

Employers look for well-rounded applicants who have a strong academic background and also possess a range of core work competencies such as team working, commercial awareness and presentation skills. These key transferable skills are as important to employers as educational achievement. This programme will give you more information about the employability skills that top recruiters look for, as well as how to go about developing these whilst you are at University and how to demonstrate them in the selection and recruitment process.

When does it take place? 

Tuesday afternoons 1-2pm and Tuesday evenings 6-7pm in late September and October.

Who can apply? 

All current students are encouraged to attend.

More information 

If you attend eight out of the ten sessions and complete a reflective review, you will be awarded a certificate.
