There are 3 types of Marketing Student Ambassadors so dependent on your interests there should be at least one that suits you! These are:

• Undergraduate Open Days
• Postgraduate Open Evenings
• Undergraduate Applicant Days
• Taster Days
• Campus Tours

Schools Liaison Ambassadors
They represent City and their course and are essential to our Schools Liaison team. The types of events these ambassadors work are:
• Visits to Campus
• Higher Education Fairs.
• UCAS Fairs
• Online and Virtual Events.
• School talks and presentations

Brand Ambassadors
As a Brand Ambassador, you will play a pivotal role in our content curation and marketing activity towards prospective students through a range of opportunities such as:
• Sharing your journey at City through blog posts, vlogs, student profiles, etc.
• Assisting with City’s social media activity (i.e. participate in Facebook and Instagram live Q&A sessions and lead weekly Instagram account “takeovers”).
• Participating in “Unibuddy”, an online peer-to-peer platform that enables prospective students to contact current students directly and ask any questions they may have regarding studying at City, general University life, services available, etc.
• Partaking in photoshoots and videos, that may be a part of the wider University’s publications and campaigns.
• Representing the University on internet forums, such as The Student Room.
• Participate in focus groups, opinion panel, events (mystery shopping) and market research activities.
• So much more.

Many of our Marketing Student Ambassadors chose to get involved multiple streams, so if you like the sound of all of them then you are welcome to apply for as many as you would like. There is one application form so when you apply make sure you select all the streams you are interested in.
How to get involved

Applications are open for our Marketing Student Ambassadors – they will close on Sunday 30th October at 11:59pm (GMT). You will need to submit an application online and if successful, complete an assessment task online. If you are successful at this stage, you will be invited to a training session where you will learn everything there is to know about City, our events and Student Ambassador duties.

Benefits to getting involved

This is a great chance to gain practical experience for your CV and improve your skills – all whilst earning money and making new friends. Work is flexible and can fit around your studies and the payrate is currently £10.65 per hour (including holiday pay)

When does it take place?

Applications are open until the end of October.

Student Ambassadors choose their hours – there is no minimum or maximum number of hours that must be worked. Shifts are usually allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. However, studies and timetabled lecture time take priority – we advise for students to sign up to shifts only when they have free time to do so.

Where does it take place?

Marketing and university wide events take place on City’s main campus (Northampton Square). Virtual Events take place online. There are also many opportunities to travel around London and the country to attend recruitment events off-site (like UCAS and HE Fairs).

Who can apply?

Any undergraduate or postgraduate City student eligible to work in the UK.
