Sports Team Leader

All teams need leaders.  Do you possess the ability to lead, motivate, and organise a group of individuals into a team?  Then get involved, and show your leadership skills.  Join a team, and go through the election process to become either a Captain or a member of the Executive Committee of your chosen sports team.

How to get involved

Join a team – speak with Julie (contact details at the bottom of this page) to find out how you can get involved.

Once you are part of a team, speak with the current Captain or the Exec.  They will put you on the right track for elections.

Benefits to getting involved

You’ll need to show focus and direction when applying for your ‘dream job’ upon graduation.  Differentiating yourself from other candidates will require the ability to demonstrate your skills, not just academically, but also through your activities during your University time. As a team leader, you’ll show drive, leadership, and also that you weren’t just a bystander.

When does it take place?

Elections take place each season.  First years rarely find themselves as Captains, but roles on Exec are available.

Where does it take place?

Clubs are student run, so AGM’s could be on campus or off.

Who can apply?

You must be an active member of a sport team.
