Marketing and Events Student Ambassadors

Description 

Represent City, share your passion for your studies, impart student experiences and inspire potential students by applying for the Marketing and Events Ambassador Scheme.

As an ambassador, you will play a key role in our marketing and outreach activity for prospective students by getting involved in a variety of roles, depending on your shown interests, availability and expertise:

Events – support the delivery of events on campus and online, including Undergraduate Open Days, Postgraduate Open Evenings, Undergraduate Applicant Days, Taster Days, campus tours and virtual events.
School Liaison – visit schools for talks and workshops, attend higher education fairs and exhibitions, and show visitors around City’s campus. You will talk directly to prospective students, their teachers, and their families about your student experience, our courses and entry requirements.
Content creation – partake in photo/video shoots, assist with City’s social media activity, and produce authentic written, video and image-led content (e.g. student blogs, vlogs, testimonials, etc.)
Online forums – answer questions on student forums and/or become a representative for City’s online peer-to-peer platform “Unibuddy”
Market research – participate in focus groups and opinion panel.

Through its variety of roles, the Scheme offers you plenty of opportunities to  develop transferable skills whilst earning some money – it's paid £11.68 per hour (including holiday pay)  – and making new friends. The scheme is very rewarding, flexible and fits around your studies. You will develop skills in communication, team work and problem solving. 

When does it take place? 

Roles within the Scheme are offered throughout the year. Marketing and Events ambassadors are added to an internal database available to members of the Marketing and External Relations department and you will be contacted when new work assignments become available. Work assignments will be offered based on the requirements of the role, interest shown and your availability. These job opportunities will primarily be for Events and Marketing shifts.

The Schools Liaison and Social Media teams will have further assessments for their shifts and will have separate databases. 

Where does it take place? 

Depending on the work assignment, you will have the opportunity to work on campus (e.g. Open Days, Open Evenings, campus tours, etc), online (Unibuddy, online events, etc.) or at external venues (higher education fairs, school and college visits, etc) in London.

Who can apply? 

We accept applications from all current undergraduate or postgraduate City students. To become an Ambassador you must:

  • Complete the online application form
  • Be successful in a virtual assessment
  • Be prepared to register with Unitemps, and are thus required to be eligible to work in this country.
